UMBRIA & TUSCANY: from Perugia to Siena

Cycling here is like stepping into a 16th century painting by Pinturicchio, the context has not changed much. Outside the large inhabited centers the landscape has remained the same as it was once: hills, churches, millenary olive trees are the backdrop to the landscape together with harmonious and welcoming villages.

We start from the historic center of Perugia, which still remains the beating heart of the city, and we descend towards Lake Trasimeno, the enchanting stretch of water in central Italy.

From there we enter the Val D’Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we stop in Montepulciano and we head to Siena. 

To be mentioned are also places like Castiglione del Lago, Pienza, S. Quirico d’Orcia and local excellent products such as Chianina meat, Chianti, Nobile di Montepulciano wine and the famous Tuscan cheeses. Just a too long list of wonders: seeing is believing.
